Busche Goes Green; New Addition to KBS Roster
Jonas Carney, performance director for KBS doesn't make hiring decisions lightly. In the case of new addition Matthew Busche, who officially goes green and joins the KBS team roster today, the decision was two years in the making.
"I've been keeping an eye on Matthew for two years now," says Carney, "and he has continued to impress me. He has a tremendous amount of talent and a good head on his shoulders. We are excited he has decided to join the team and look forward to seeing what he can do in a Kelly Benefit Strategies jersey."
Busche, 24, formerly of ISCorp amateur team in Wisconsin will start for the team at the Tour of Utah and race in the USPRO Road Race Championships, the Univest Grand Prix and the Vuelta a Chihuahua in Mexico later this year. Already this season he took first place in the Blue Mounds Road Race, Tour of America's Dairyland, is the current Wisconsin State Road Race Champion, finished 11th overall in the Nature Valley Grand Prix and was 5th in the Elite National Road Race Championship. In 2008 he was 9th overall in the Fitchburg Longsjo Classic and was Wisconsin State Road Race Champion.
A native of Wisconsin, he graduated from Luther College, class of 2007, with a degree in Sports Management and Exercise.
