KBS Dominates at Canadian Nationals; First, Second in U23 Time Trial

The Kelly Benefit Strategies team took first and second at the Canadian National Championships in the U23 Time Trial today. David Veilleux successfully defended his 2008 title to win for the fourth year in a row, while teammate Ryan Anderson took second.
"David had a tough start to the year with a shoulder injury during spring training" says performance director, Jonas Carney, "but he is back with a vengeance. His performance today, along with Ryan's second place finish shows the strength and talent of our guys. We're incredibly proud but know there is more to come."
Veilleux finished with a time of 54:18:069 with Anderson clocking in at 1:14:924 behind Veilleux, times that would have placed both riders at 5th and 8th respectively in the elite race. In the elite category teammate Zach Bell finished third, 1:33:372 behind the winner and Garmin star Svein Tuft.
"These are young guys," adds Carney. "But they are world class athletes racing at the top of their game with a very promising half season left to go."
