Race Update | Vuelta Ciclista del Uruguay

The Vuelta Ciclista del Uruguay is unfolding nicely for KBS, as Jesse Anthony currenty sits 3rd on the GC, with Ryan Anderson and David Veilleux not far behind. These three young riders are joined by defending 2009 champion Scott Zwizanski and Reid Mumford, who also shared yellow in the race last year. Redlands Stage 3 | City of Redlands Criterium

KBS was close again in Stage 2 of the Redlands Classic, a technical 1.6 km. circuit with 11 corners and a tricky chicane close to the finish line. The team rode an agressive race, covering an early break with Will Duggan (Team Type 1) Anibal Borrajo (Jamis-Sutter Home), Kyle Wamsley (Bissell) and Sergio Hernandez (NOW-MS Society). Alex Candelario hit out from the break and held a gap for a large chunk of the race, before being reeled back in as things sped up later on.

Redlands Stage 2 | Beaumont Road Race

The domestic racing season officially began for KBS today at the Redlands Bicycle Classic. The 105 mile circuit race in the city of Beaumont headed into the San Bernadino foothills for four tough laps that featured steep climbs and a narrow, winding descent. In his second season with Kelly Benefit Strategies, Neil Shirley says that the team's tailored approach to 2010 could pay dividends in this weekend's Redlands Bicycle Classic.


The 31-year-old, who spent three years with the Jittery Joe's outfit, began the season with the Tour de Langkawi and recently finished 13th overall at the San Dimas Stage Race, ahead of riders such as Jason Donald, talented youngster Alex Howes and Australian climber Jai Crawford.

Podium Insight | A Lot at Play This Year for David Veilleux

Podium Insight Podium Insight speaks with KBS' David Veilleux regarding the 2010 season and his plans for the future.

Despite breaking his collarbone at the beginning of 2009, David Veilleux of the Kelly Benefit Strategies squad had a great season on his last year as a U23 rider. He won the the U23 Canadian Time Trial National Championships for the fourth time, soloed to victory at the Presbyterian Invitational in Charlotte and won the sprint competition at the Tour of Utah.

Cando's Late Stage Sabotage in Langkawi

In the final stage of last week's Tour de Langkawi, Alex Candelario was leading a frantic field sprint after a great leadout. Take a look at this unfortunate result (and impressive save) for Cando. PHOTO CREDIT: HAZRIN YEOB MEN SHAH


A reckless rival's pedal went into Cando's wheel, stripping most of the spokes off instantly and sending him skidding.

Tour of Langkawi Race Recap

Here is an update on Stages 4 and 5 straight from Jonas. Expect more from Jonas and Jake as the season wears on.

Yesterday was a 165km stage from Mersing to Parit Sulong. We were hoping to win a stage in a field sprint as Cando had finished 2nd on stage 3. The stage was relatively controlled and uneventful. In the sprint, Zwizanski hit the front with 1km to go, followed by Bell and Cando.
