Team Prepares for UCI Invitational after major win at Tour de Beauce
Minneapolis, Min., July 1, 2009 – The Kelly Benefit Strategies pro team has accepted an official invitation to race the Tour of Missouri, September 7-13, 2009. It is the second year the KBS squad has competed.
The team follows a successful debut at the 2008 race with high hopes for this season's event. In 2008, under Jonas Carney's direction, the team placed riders in the break every day for the first four road races of the event and racked up several key placements. KBS Team Races 50th Anniversary Fitchburg Longsjo Classic after Victories at Tour de Beauce, Canadian Nationals
The Kelly Benefit Strategies pro team lines up an A-squad of winners for the 50th anniversary Fitchburg Longsjo Classic today in Fitchburg, Massachusetts today, Wednesday. Racing Fitchburg for the first time as a team, KBS comes to the milestone event fresh from winning the Tour de Beauce, stage two of the Tour of America's Dairyland, the Tour of Winghaven (NRC) and seeing David Veilleux take his third consecutive Canadian U23 National Time Trial title.

Veilleux Defends Title to win Time Trial Three Years Running; Ryan Anderson Takes Second; Zach Bell Finishes Third in Elite Category
The Kelly Benefit Strategies team took first and second at the Canadian National Championships in the U23 Time Trial today. David Veilleux successfully defended his 2008 title to win for the fourth year in a row, while teammate Ryan Anderson took second.
"David had a tough start to the year with a shoulder injury during spring training" says performance director, Jonas Carney, "but he is back with a vengeance. KBS’ Canadians head north for National Championships
Four KBS riders including five time U23 Canadian National Champion David Veilleux and 2009 World Track Championship runner-up Zach Bell (see some photos of Bell at worlds here, here, and here) will head across the border into familiar territory this week to race in the country’s definitive time trail and road race championships.
2009 roster additions Jacob Erker and Ryan Anderson will round out the green team’s powerful presence at Friday's TT and Saturday’s road race in Saint-Georges, Quebec.

Bajadali, Hoag and Keough Almost Pull Off Hat Trick of Wins from the Dairyland to St. Louis
Barely midway through the 2009 season, the KBS program, as Jonas Carney points out, has already won more races than in all of 2008, which was in itself a very successful year. This past weekend, Hoag, Bajadali and Keough almost pulled off a hat-trick of victories in the Midwest when Hoag and Bajadali took second and third in the opening stage of the Tour of America's Dairyland, Keough won the Waterloo Criterium and Bajadali went on to win the NRC Tour de Winghaven Circuit Race in St. Louis on Sunday.

In another fantastic effort during a tough, uphill circuit race in downtown Saint-Georges, Scott Zwizanski held onto the yellow jersey and became the GC champion of the 2009 Tour De Beauce. The 12 loop, 130 km race featured a grueling climb on each lap directly before the finish line. Zwiz's main rivals for the GC crown, Darwin Atapuma and Sergio Luis Henao of the Columbian national team, did not make things easy for the KBS squad, attacking from the gun and staying persistent throughout the race.
